On 27 July 2021, at the Training Center of the Italian Red Cross (CRI) in Jesolo, the Multinational CIMIC Group Commander, Colonel Mattia Zuzzi, and the Italian Red Cross Vice President and National Councilor, Lawyer Rosario Maria Gianluca Valastro, signed a technical agreement, unique of its kind, aimed at strengthening and implementing the educational and training collaboration between the Italian Red Cross and Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG).
The agreement, in fact, specifies the didactic areas of mutual interest that are centered on highly qualifying training in the NATO context for CRI personnel in the sphere of civil-military cooperation (CIMIC) and, likewise, give MNCG CIMIC operators the opportunity to be able to access a unique educational offer in the field of International Humanitarian Law, basic life support techniques and the Medical Civic Assistance Program modules.
The bilateral pact also provides for an exchange of experiences and Subject Matter Experts, in the specific area of expertise, which will enrich the training offers of the respective entities. A collaboration which over the years has been enriched and improved not only in the purely educational field, but which also rests on technical growth and mutual knowledge thanks to international and national exercises in which representatives of the two entities use to participate together.
After the signing of the agreement, Colonel Mattia Zuzzi gave a lecture at the course for Instructors of International Humanitarian Law, organized by the Red Cross, in which he highlighted the capabilities and objectives of the civil-military cooperation and of the Multinational CIMIC Group, not only in NATO environment, but also at national and international level.
