On 10 March 2026, the 43rd Coordinating Committee Meeting of the Multinational CIMIC Group took place at the National Military Circle Palace of the Romanian Armed Forces in Bucharest, marking the first meeting of the year between the Command and the representatives of the Participating Nations.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Multinational CIMIC Group Headquarters, the National Representatives of Greece, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Romania and Slovenia, as well as personnel from the Romanian Army. The event was further enhanced by the presence of Lieutenant General Dragoş-Dumitru Iacob, Deputy Chief of Defence of the Romanian Armed Forces.

During the meeting, the Commander of the Multinational CIMIC Group presented an update on the activities carried out by the Headquarters in recent months, together with the planning for the next six months and the possible future lines of development of the Group. The Coordinating Committee also reviewed the main operational, organisational and administrative issues connected with the evolving international environment and with North Atlantic Treaty Organization guidance.

Among the main outcomes of the meeting was the approval of the entry into force of the 2022 edition of the Memorandum of Understanding, which aligns the Operational Concept of the Multinational CIMIC Group with the Participating Nations’ visions and priorities.

In his welcome address, Lieutenant General Iacob underlined the value of Civil-Military Cooperation as a relevant factor in understanding the operational environment and in improving the effectiveness of planning and conducting operations from the strategic to the tactical level.

At the end of the meeting, the Romanian delegation accompanied participants on a visit to the People’s Salvation Cathedral and the National Military Museum, offering an additional opportunity for cultural insight and for strengthening cohesion among the representatives of the Participating Nations.
